We continue in the Green phase of recovery in our region, but case numbers and hospitalizations have been on the rise, and the government of New Brunswick has mandated new restrictions for all indoor venues. This includes us. So here is the plan that we’ve come up with for the short term based on the current mandate:
From now until Sunday Nov. 21 (barring stricter restrictions), we will have two worship services each Sunday, a Eucharist service that will meet in person at 9:30am with orange-level restrictions (50% capacity, masking, distancing, no singing, strict contact tracing) and a Morning Prayer service that will meet interactively by Zoom at 11:00am. In addition, Pilgrim and Men’s Bible study will meet by Zoom rather than in person, and Upper Corner Café and Midweek Bible study will go on temporary hiatus.
I realize this is very challenging. It’s been a long journey to this point, and we are not out of the woods yet. Let’s find ways to reach out and encourage one another in the days and weeks ahead.
Update on Potential Partnership with Trinity Sussex
From Shawn Branch, our diocesan parish development officer: “The working group exploring a potential partnership between the parishes of Sussex, St Marks and Waterford continues to explore what this might look like. We will be taking a break for the summer and work towards having another set of congregational meetings in September looking at the specifics of the partnership. If there are questions or concerns, please speak with your Wardens or contact Shawn Branch at the Synod Office (506-459-1801 x 1008)”
Special Thank You
Special thank you to Elizabeth Forsythe who has helped to stock up both parishes with hand sanitizer, wipes and PPE. Many thanks Elizabeth!
